Jessica was born in 1987 and completed this book, as well as the illustrations within, before the age of 21. She currently lives in Oklahoma with her family and is attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma during the school year. Her family is important to her and she modeled a few of her characters after them.

Majoring in Aerospace Engineering, at the release of this book, she was completing the Finals for the third year toward her Bachelor of Science degree and was accepted into the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at OSU. She is a member of the National Collegiate Honor Society and the Society of Women Engineers. Her interests include history, ancient languages, the Holy Bible, self taught musical instruments--including the guitar and piano, and writing.

When asked why she created the World of RCD, her response was thoughtful:

"The World of RCD is an escape from our world, but retains the human aspect. The characters of the book depend on The One, and, like the characters of the book, so should we."

Regarding influences on her life and people who motivated her interest in writing, Jessica gives God all the glory for leading her down the path to completion of this first book in her series, The Risen, the Chosen, and the Dark. Her family believes strongly in her God given talents and encourages her to the best of their abilities.
